Challenge

To establish a digital platform that educates the community about MCAA’s mission, vision, and collaborative initiatives, fostering support and involvement.

  1. Ageism and negative stereotypes about aging can lead to social isolation and a diminished sense of value.
  2. Older adults, particularly those facing poverty, may struggle to access essential services and resources.
  3. Creating a community infrastructure that adequately supports the diverse needs of a growing older population.

Solution

Partnered with Phuconcepts to design and develop an informative website highlighting MCAA’s mission, vision, and focus areas. Implemented user-friendly navigation and interactive features to engage visitors and showcase the alliance’s impact.

  1. The MCAA advocates for policies and initiatives that promote the value and contributions of older adults.
  2. They collaborate with service providers to ensure a comprehensive network of resources is available to meet the needs of older adults, including healthcare, housing, and social services.
  3. The MCAA promotes the creation of an “age-friendly” community, encouraging accessible infrastructure, transportation options, and social engagement opportunities for all ages.
  4. They raise awareness about the challenges faced by older adults and advocate for solutions that promote their well-being.

Outcome

Launched a dynamic website that educates the community about MCAA’s efforts to address poverty, combat ageism, and create an age-friendly community. Increased awareness and support for MCAA’s initiatives among residents and stakeholders. Positioned MCAA as a leader in promoting the well-being of older adults in Rochester and Monroe County.

  1. The MCAA’s work contributes to a more inclusive and age-positive community environment.
  2. They help ensure older adults have access to the resources and services needed to live healthy and fulfilling lives.
  3. By promoting an “age-friendly” community, the MCAA fosters intergenerational connections and a more vibrant community for all.
